Volunteer in Zimbabwe
There are currently no openings for long-term projects in Zimbabwe. New volunteer projects will be announced here when available. To get an idea of what kind of programs are expected, you can check some of the past projects below.

Orphanage support program
Norton       1 - 12 months

Volunteer project: Volunteers will work in an orphanage in the town of Norton in Mashonaland West Province. The orphanage caters for children coming from very humble and disadvantaged backgrounds. The center provides accommodation, meals, clothing and school tuition for the kids. The center struggles to take care of the ever-increasing number of children in need, hence the dire need of resource mobilization volunteers.

The Resource Mobilization volunteer will contribute to the work of the orphanage through research, documentation and resource mobilization. The ideal candidate will be specifically involved in identifying and responding to opportunities for funding. Volunteers will also be involved in capacity building activities especially for the outgoing children. They will learn from other staff members to perform duties.

Special requirements: Communication or media studies preferred, experience in communications, editing communication content including writing compelling stories; Experience in grant writing and resource mobilization; Strong negotiation skills with experience in influencing, creativity, innovativeness, and entrepreneurial thinking; Proficient user of Microsoft Word Suite; Adept at using social media platforms; Strong oral and written English language skills; Ability to work independently.

Accommodation: Volunteers will be accommodated at the care home. Rooms will be available to individual volunteers. Seniors, families and physically challenged volunteers will have special arrangements.

Participation fee: $690

Extra fee: 250 Euro per month
The extra fee is intended to support the local host of the project who does not have sufficient funds. It is due upon arrival.
