English to students on Hainan
Island Volunteer project: The project takes place in Wenchang, about 70 km away from the main city of Haikou on Hainan Island. Wenchang town consist of a closely related community with a rich culture.
During the project, the international participants will work together
with other volunteers and local students of different ages. The main activities
consist of: Special requirements: Interest in teaching and cultural work. We expect all the volunteers to be open minded, leave prejudice behind and show initiative. Creative ideas for the work, discussions, and the free time are expected to come from the group. Free time: Activities during the weekend will be going to the beach near Wenchang, visiting the cultural temples, etc. Language: English Accommodation: In a school. Conditions are simple and the sleeping place will be dormitory style. The food will be vegetarian.

Extra fee: 1.500 RMB (about $210
US) for two weeks; 3.000 RMB (about $420 US) for four weeks.

teaching program for special needs children in Wenchang
The project tasks include developing friendship
between the participants and the local students and teachers, teaching English
to local students, learning Chinese and local language, participating in some
sport games with the students. The students are mute and deaf, but they can dance and draw, and you can also
learn a lot from them.

Hainan Different from other provinces, Hainan is the largest ocean island and the smallest land province in China. Its natural beauty has gained a good reputation among the visitors and has been widely known around the world. People call it "the Oriental Hawaii". Hainan is located at south end of China, and its neighbouring countries are Philippines towards the east, Malaysia and Brunei towards the south, Indonesia towards the southwest, and Vietnam towards the west. Due to the mild climate and favourable environment, Hainan is regarded as a long life island. Hainan now has a population of 7.11 million, among which about one million are ethnic minorities.
The hospitable villagers in ethnic villages
will treat you to traditional food as well as wonderful singing and dancing
performances. Furthermore, Hainan is famous for their beautiful handicrafts,
like shell carvings. |

Volunteer
project:
The project takes place in Liren village, located about 90 km away from
the main city of Haikou on Hainan Island. The village consists of 90
households, a closely related community with a very rich culture. You
will experience the farmer's life in this rural China village, as there
will be farm stay activities scheduled during the project.
Accommodation:
The place where you will stay is a traditional Chinese style house.
Conditions are simple and the sleeping place will be dormitory style.
The food will be vegetarian.
